I'm considering buying a K31 today, I want people to tell me reasons why I should (and should not) buy it. I haven't checked the bore, but I doubt it will be in poor shape, the action seems tight enough, and the wood and blueing are in decent shape.

    Why you should:
    Good action
VERY accurate, even using cheap prvi/wolf ammo
    very well made
    good looking
powerful, long range round (174gr FMJBT)

    Why you shouldn't:
Ammo costs alot. both milsurp and commercial will run atleast 50c a round
um...yah, thats the only reason I can think NOT to get one.

DO IT! You won't regret it.

The ammo cost is about the only thing bad about them from what I have heard anywhere else. I will end up getting a dieset and reloading for this one, they work well with .308 diameter bullets, and I have some of those around my house.

Every time I take apart another milsurp it seems like a piece of crap compared to the k31, it is really a very well built gun.

    fucking .

hell, the bolt is absurdly easy to take apart and put back together, even given the straight pull factor.

I'm excited. My paycheck will get cashed shortly, then I get to leave. I think as long as they have it still I will walk out of there with it. I don't even think it had an importer stamp on it, but I could be wrong. The stock was in really good condition at the butt for a K31.

BTW: You guys are not making the 2 hour wait I have any easier, lol.

Most of the importers put their stamp behind the front sight block, the smart guess is samco. Century of course puts a huge ugly mark on the receiver. Can't wait to see it and if you have a soldier tag! Beech or walnut?

I think it is too dark if I remember correctly to be beech. I could be wrong though. The lighting in that part of the shop is not great.
