Detailing a motorcycle is a god damn PITA.

How can such a small bike take so long to clean?

Fortunetly, I have discovered the secret to detailing bikes. All it does is involve beer and BBQ. I went to visit some friends, and while we were outside talking and grilling up some food, I spent the entire time cleaning my bike. The more buzzed I got, the less I cared how much time I spent on it.

Apparently, I spent three hours just on the chrome alone. :eek3:

I woke up the next morning, walked ouside, and said, "Damn, this is one clean bike."

That shit takes FOREVER to get it done right. After a while it seems like I spend more time cleaning/detailing it than riding it.

Actually, that's what I planned on doing this afternoon...but I'm really procrastining about it. :o

I gave up on detailing bikes years ago......

now I just wrap the ignition/intake in plastic and hit it with the pressure washer, then wipe it down

For example, I was cleaning the wheels and I could not get to some of the areas on the rim just because the belt/brakes/etc were in the way. It was next to impossible to scrub down. Thankfully it wasn't so much as an issue since the bike is still new, but if any amount of noticable brake dust ever accumulates on them, then I'm SOL. I would practically have to remove the rear wheel to get it anywhere near clean.
