Since the weather is finally turning from complete shit here in Utah I decided to detail the SO's Mazda. She got it in January it had ZERO wax on it and major swirling especially on the C pillars. I took before pictures but they didn't turn out and didn't show how bad the swirls really were..

This would only be my second detailing with the PC so be gentle :hs:

Optimum Compound with orange LC pad
Optimum Polish with white LC pad
NXT 2.0 with black LC pad

I think it turned out quite well. It took the polish a lot easier than my black TL does. It does have some buffer haze it appears in certain lightining :sadwavey:

Now for a few questions...I have about 4 more cars coming up soon to detail, one of them is an older one with a bit more oxidation. Would I be better off with a heavier cut pad with Optimum Compound or getting a harsher compound while still using an orange LC pad.

Yeah I kinda figured as much. I did notice though, that the Driver's side door had more orange peel all over than the passenger side. Passenger side was silky smooth and the drivers definitely had some orange peel, not much but definitely noticable....to me.

I see a lot of it even where it isn't supposed to be, though....But good job on the detail! I need to do that after I'm done with exams. Less than a month!

i think alot of cars have orange peel on the bottom of the door just because that area is going to get alot of abuse anyway?

According to my local Meguiars distributor, you can use Meguiars #105 with a PC/UDM. Fastest cutting compound I have ever used.
