    Detailed: 2006 BMW X5

Please bare with me on the write up. My left pointer finger is basically numb on the outside but the broke bone inside throbs. Simply put: a pain in the ass.

Good thing is that with the aid of rubber gloves I can still work. This is one that I did prior to the accident. I did the owner's Toyota Tacoma about a month prior. This is his wife's vehicle. It was in pretty nice shape though and best of all it was white!

    Here's the process........

    Wheels, Tires, and Wells:
Tires and wells were treated with Purple Power Degreaser 1:1, agitated, and then pressure washed. Meguiar's Wheel Brightener at 4:1 on the famous Bimmer brake dust. The tires and wells were coated with No-Touch Wet'n Protect and the wheels recieved a coating of Collinite 476S.

    Engine Bay:

Purple Power Degreaser 1:1 for cleaning. Then, Hyper Dressing at 1:1 was sprayed onto the wet, clean engine. The hood was shut, motor started and let run for 15 minutes aka the "baking process". The finished motor is how this process comes out untouched.

    Wash Process:
Once rinsed, the exterior was foamed with NXT Tech Wash and let to soak for about 5 minutes. It was then washed with a Meguiar's mitt. Drying was handled by a Meguiar's Water Magnet.

    Paint Polishing:

    (Meguiar's #80 via G110 & LC Lo-Pro Orange Pad)
Upon inspection and testing of about combo, there was no need for compounding. #80 took care of the light swirls. I quick IPA wipe showed me that there was no filling that #80 has been so often accused of. The finish was glossy and most of all, clean. The G110 was a dream to use and plenty of power to break this polish down. Oh yeah.......I did use #6 setting. Sorry!!!

    Paint Protection:
    (Collinite 476S & Meguiar's NXT 2.0 via G110 & LC Red Finishing Pad)
First a layer of 476 was applied and let sit while I did half the interior. I then removed it and put on a coating to NXT 2.0 while the other interio side was finished. I then removed it. I'm simply looking for a LSP combo that offers maximum durability and maximum gloss. We will see since I will see this one on a bi-weekly basis. Looks good now though!

    Interior:
Meguiar's APC at 10:1 was used to clean every single surface other than glass. The leather was coated with Pinnacle's Leather Conditioner. The dash and panels with Pinnacle's Vinyl & Plastic Protectant.

That from Wheel Brightener. Goes away within 1/2 of a mile.
