As you can tell from the title, this was the biggest restoration I've done to date. It's red with a ton of oxidation. This was yet another referral. The customer is about to sell this vehicle so he wanted it extremely clean. He has over 10k in mods to it. 329HP to the wheels on pump gas; 389WHP on 104 octane! This was the first time I got a tip before I even started on a vehicle.

    Here's what it got:
    (Actually took some before shots!)

    NXT Tech Wash
(Clayed while during the wash cycle)

    Meguiar's #80
    (EDGE2K Yellow Pad at #6)
Had to clean this thing out 6 times! And it's double sided!

    XMT Machine Glaze
(EDGE2K Orange Pad at #4 setting)

    Souveran Liquid Wax-2 coats
(EDGE2K White Pad at #3 setting)

Once again, a tough one. About 5-6 hours on the paint alone. Interior was really clean so no shots of it. #80 took all the oxidation off with one pass and polished out nicely. Again, XMT glaze stole the show giving it the wet depth followed by the gloss of Souveran.
    Customer was extremely pleased!

    Befores.......

    Awesome work!

BTW, I have found that DACP and #80 do a more effective job on single stage paints than anything else. The trade secret oils really add a richness to SS paints that nothing else seems to do.

I started out with #80 and then wanted to try others. I tried Optimum Compound and was not as good. I also tried some of the XMT line...not as good either.
You wanna know what did a good job though?
The new Megs Cleaner Wax....same red bottle but more abrassives and more carnauba. Took alot of the oxidation off but didn't give the depth that #80 does.

    Nice work.

I seconed the #80 and DACP on single stage.
My old standby for singel stage is DACP, and SR2.0. The SR2.0 has somthing in it that makes the paint pop much more then with the #80. It just looks deeper, righer, and much more refined.

If you want to add that extra layer of depth, the show car hand glaze is a nice touch too before your LSP.

Optimum is purely a polish, it doesnt do squat on single stage paints. Same with the Poorboys SSR line, i find its not at its best on single stage.

My Supra is 12 years old and the paint isn't jacked like that. What did he do, park it in the salt flats?

PHENOMENAL job, Justin! That half and half shot really demonstrates what the PC can do with the right product.

that's pretty stupid.....I guess for $40k, you don't get more than two Recaro seats, a BBK and an engine that flies :hsugh:

your saying this evo has no clear coat at all?

I am surprised OC was not as good as #80 since there are not as many abrasives in the #80
