My Request is an odd one indeed. Im looking for the best way to destroy my computer. Its quite old, irreversibly damaged, and well, its funner than bringing it to the dump. I have already google searched this, and nothing i saw, was quite flashy enough. Im looking for flames, possibly explosions, or at the very least, lots of loud sounds, and possibly some smoke. So if anyone could help me, it would be much appreciated.

I've heard tell if you leave the CRT out in the sun all day then shoot it it'll kinda explode. I think it only works if its hot out though.

Take the cover off the power supply, plug it in, then drop bits of metal into it. Kinda dangerous, but kinda fun.

depends on where he's from. The internet brings people in from different states and different countries. This means laws differ in states and countries. Therefore, what can be illegal in one place is legal in another.

i thought it was illegal too, but it seems that the epa does not consider household disposal hazardous - just larger quantities.

    http://www.epa.gov/ecycling/rules.htm

the reason is due to mercury in crt's. also there is a capacitor in there that can kill you if you touch it while it still holds a charge

Besides being illegal, it's also plain stupid.

Why not just get rid of the machine properly? Trying to blow it up or set it on fire is just asking to get someone hurt.

Thats what I figured it was. Doubt the EPA cares about the cap though.

Its definitely not something I would do.

In fact a guy in the dorm busted up his comp one time. It was kinda anti climactic.

Put the motherboard in the microwave, turn microwave on 10 seconds or less, stand back, watch light show.

Use fireworks. Attach the motherboard to several rockets and let them launch. Then watch the motherboard fall to the ground and crack. :)
M-80s for explosions, throw some cheap smoke bombs for smoke.

it's illegal because it is not legal to dispose of a monitor in the trash, and litering is never legal.

sure thing boss, let me know where your wife or girlfriend is so I can fuck her brains out. Well, according to you that's my right as a human being, right?

I am in NO way a tree-hugger. I fucking hate tree huggers. I drive a lot, and I'm looking at a new truck with a V8. I do not care too much about the environment. But I'm a criminal justice major, and I believe the law is the law -- and it doesn't matter if you like the law, you should still follow it.

Jolly - turn it off once in awhile. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm saying don't take life so seriously. Don't you miss doing something stupid even if you knew it was wrong?

I still do stupid stuff -- but I want people to tell me "hey, that's stupid" not to encourage doing it.
