Yikes. I actually was under the impression desertion was taken more seriously but apparently not.

What happens when you get dishonorably discharged? I mean obviously it looks like shit but what is the process and what sticks once its over and done with?

It's not unlike a felony....can't own guns, hard to get jobs, etc.

Someone with a dishonorable discharge can't own guns? I didn't know that... Is a less-than-honorable a lesser punishment, like getting fired from a job?

I'd rather get fired from a job than an other-than-honorable or something like that, but even a BCD looks ok compared to a dishonorable discharge.

anything other than an Honorable Discharge and you're pretty much fucked for life unless you're looking to get hired by some drugged out hippie fags who were service dodgers anyways. In which case you might as well go to Canada and be a fag there.

I know one person that holds a fairly reputable job that had an OTH. I know of two that are deserters that hold jobs in NJ at some warehouse dock type place that get decent $$ via under the table cash payments.
