so im on a buniness trip and i think the loneliness is getting to me. ive been here 2 weeks so far, and have 3 left. im usually a really social person, when im home I ALWAYS have something going on, usually with multiple people, but around here i know nobody. I have issues with going say down to a bar by myself for social interaction. my thoughts on it are if i drink by myself ill probably get more depressed. my friend (and possibly my girl) are going to fly out and visit me in like 1.5 weeks, but that is forever off it feels. when im at work im busy, but when im off its really starting to get to me. what can i do to help this?

Are you able to hang out with others from your work? Maybe asking them out for a drink/meal will open up more social opportunities, plus its a good way to makes friends in your workplace.

What do you do that makes you travel for so long?

have you ever played an instrument? while you wont get much from it initially, the better you get the more fun it becomes. Plus progress is always an anti-depressent.

Your attitude on it is all wrong. If you don't want to be lonely you have to step towards the people, compared to staying home, and going to a bar the benefit of a bar is that you 'may' meet people vs no one at home for certain. So don't be your own worst enemy and at least give it a try.

Corporate training? That's what I do, too.

It's like teaching, except the pay is higher.
