If you know you're definitely going to join the military it might be a good idea get into the DEP because it counts towards time served in inactive reserves.

You finish up what ever it is you have going on and have your slot reserved. During that time you go to all the poolie events and such and make sure you are fit and ready to kick things off.

I was in the DEP for a few months.

Dear God, don't do it man.

Stay out and work a shitty job for one or two years at least. Enjoy some life first. Just stay out of trouble.

Being in the Marines won't help you get pussy/women. It helps you get hookers... you still have to have some game. Think of it like this... any where you make port in the military, literally 1000's if not hundreds of thousands of other military people have been through there. There's either hookers, or used up skanks that may as well be hookers. Diseases FTMFL....

However if you have to study for anything in the military, you're trying to hard. Unless it's an officer program, then you probably/will have to study. If you want my honest opinion...

Stay out for at the very least 2 years. Go to college or get a job and try out new things. Get some more education which will help you tremendously in what ever branch you want to enter. Not to mention college girls get more drunk, are more wild and more horny than any other women you'll meet in the military or the places the military takes you.

Some people enjoy going in right out of school and then being done a few years later.

    It depends on you.

I have been in DEP for the Navy since May...I leave in August. Probably different than Marines but we usually practice left face, right face, about face, run, check in on Monday's to ensure we did not get arrested, and just ask questions.

If you enjoy waking up depressed everyday and regretting your enlistment more than anything....

Join the military. Specifically the Navy.

I never regretted joining the military. Sure a lot of it sucks, if not most of it, but you get from it what you make of it.
