Let me preface this by saying that I don't shoot anything but people, but for a job I had to do cityscapes from the rooftop of this building as per my contract. Just loving the images that come out of this 5d, only PP is the vignetting (and I know it is crooked, I don't give a flying fuck that's what I like in this case...don't fret I have hundreds of straight normal shots):

Cool shot - I like the two streets converging. With the crooked angle, it actually leads the eyes into the foreground...

I see quite a few of my fellow qwest employees are still working late into the day

Have you tried this in a portrait crop? I don't care for the "dead" space on the right.

yeah and i was at the edge of the building- the point of a triangle, i had 1 foot on either side with an 8 story drop

froze my balls off. I'm not good with heights either...but the AD is going to let me do a personal shoot up on the roof.

I wish there was a ~18-20 mm lens that was worth a damn.

you can do it in your raw processing, otherwise, just burn in the corners.

    1. Use Lasso tool to make a rough outline of the area you want to vignette
    2. Create a new layer
    3. Select .... Feather.... (value depends on how big your photo is...try around 50 to 100)
    4. Select ... Inverse
    5. Fill the selected area with black
    6. Play with the opacity until it is right

I do something way too complicated that is not destructive to the image...involves a new layer - 50% gray, soft overlay or some shit. Then paint it.
