Bought a cheap Dell/Fujitsu laptop hard drive off of eBay to put into my laptop and the hard drive has some kind of lock on it, I resetted the BIOS many times but it still just gives me a service tag and asks for a password. Do I just have a really expensive paperweight now or is there something I can do with it?

Did you try to FDISK the drive?

    FDISK /MBR as well.

Cannot FDISK it because when it doesn't get the right password it just plays dead and the system thinks it has no HD attatched. Been doing some more research and it looks like only a DELL tech support can get me a master password, but since I'm not the original buyer of the hard drive, I'm SOL. :)

Whoever the seller, um, "aquired" the HD from must have turned on the data protection feature on the laptop. You=SOL. Bitch to the seller, and if they don't take it back and you used paypal, bitch to paypal and the might reverse the transaction.
