I think I've made up my mind...I'm going with a Dell!

Inspiron 8600 with Intel Centrino Processor
    Around $1600 after discounts

    Pentium M 1.4Ghz
    15.4" Widescreen SXGA+ display
    512MB DDR 333 Mhz RAM
    60GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive
64 MB NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 Video Card
    Dell TrueMobile 1300 WLAN Card
    all this for around 6.9lbs

Any last second suggestions before I put my order in?? Anybody know if NVIDIA video cards are any good? I know ATI's are the bomb, but never heard of the one Dell uses.

I'll be using this mainly for websurfing, watching DVD's on the plane, and Excel for work. No gaming. Should be good enough, huh? I hear good things about Centrino - mainly battery life - but doesn't slow down processor speeds.

Anything else I should know before purchasing???

The graphics card doesnt really mater for what you are goint to use the laptop. Its a good laptop, somewhat heavy... I heart my 600m, 4.98 lbs :)

My dad has a D800, the 600M is way lighter IMO although everything is lightweight compared to my freakin heavey Inspiron 1100.. :p
