I have a Dell Dimension E310 computer with a bad DVD CD ROM drive. I need to reload XP. How can I boot XP installation CD ROM off an external USB DVD CD ROM? Is this even possible? Thanks.

Plug the drive in, go into the BIOS during startup (usually Del, Esc, or one of the F keys during the Dell splash screen), go to the Boot settings, and set it to boot from USB first.

Not all computers can boot from USB, but if it's fairly new it should be in there somewhere.
