They're ok if you can get a hot deal on them.

But 10k for a computer and it only has 2 gigs of ram? Sure there other ones are good if you can get a deal on them but i have never seen anything so overpriced besides the 2006 civic si that was marked for like 32k.

The most expensive is always the best...obviously.
If you go to www.alienware.com, there are some tight ass computers. One time I customized an Intel computer on Alienware and made it worth 35,000 dollars!!! It had a flatpanel monitors! The best ever worth a CAR! LO

I do believe I'd have to shoot myself if I owned a computer that looked like that. When I read the thread title, I thought of Stephen Colbert's "George Bush: Great president, or greatest president ever?" quote.

When they use a phrase like "Pimped out with extra software..." anywhere in the promo material, you just know their target market is dumb white rich kids.

Dell owns Alienware now, so there ridiculous prices kind of make sense. At least we know where they get there ideas now.

Well, doesn't that just kill the thought of everl owning an Alienware PC.

Oh well, guess we'll all have to stick to building our own machines for half the cost.

What the hell is wrong with people? As if regular 2x SLI/CrossFire weren't bad enough -- buying two video cards to get less than double the performance generating 3D graphics that will be obsolete in a year when the video card companies come out with a whole new batch of special effects -- now they're making 4x SLI? That ALONE proves their target market is white kids.

(rich and dumb were edited out due to redundancy, as almost anyone who's in the USA, not white, and rich enough to afford a $10k computer is certainly NOT dumb to boot).

Because you probably have a use for that $80K workstation, don't you? Crunching numbers on protein structures or something more worthy than... Half Life 2? :)

You know, you could get 3 fully loaded MacBook Pro 17's for $10K... set them up as a cluster and well...

Me too. They're the best notebooks ever. I can't decide though: 15 or 17? 17 is best for working... 15 is better for carrying. Hmmmmm!

Depends on your definition of decent. My family all have flat panels with VGA connectors, and the clarity is so good I don't even notice whether the color accuracy is better on my DVI-connected LCD.
