OK, so a dude at the range had a tac solutions upper that he liked. Looks fun and it's cheap as shit. Well I was looking at spikes and see that their dedicated .22 barrels sit 1.5" back in the rifle. So your barrel looks like a M4 14.5 only at 16".

So what if instead of rocking a 16" you turn one down to 13 1/2" or so and pin a KX3? You'd have basically have the feel of a 12" sbr with a 16" barrel and no tax/entry into the crazy people file.

SOMETHING IN THE BAALL PARK OF THIS ->

I think goddam... that's a lot of money and effort for a "cool" looking 22.

I've been guilty of doing worse though

True. ~500 for the full setup. :noes: But how many range trips would it take to make up the difference? 22 is fun as shit though too, particularly when your local range sucks balls.

not a bad idea. Me rikey

sort of on the subject, someday I'm going to
build my own .22 upper via my cmmg conversion kit. Would I be able to buy one of these barrels from GM and attach it to a stripped upper ala building a normal AR upper?

if not, what would be a good 1:12 or 1:14 AR barrel to get

What would be the point of a KX3 on a .22. Having the barrel cut down to 13.5" and threaded and you're already halfway to a tax stamp for an SBR.
