I think that a lot of pride decisions have been pretty questionable. Their main criteria is "who almost won". But that really sort of fucks some fighters over... If Mark Hunt landed 1 good punch and made you wobbly, and then got raped on the ground for 3 rounds, and still wins... then that would just be stupid. I think that they should just go into overtime with rounds.

I think it's well established that if you let it go to a decision in pride you're pretty fucked, if you're up against any of the national favorites, or against someone from yoshida's dojo, or if you are slipping in popularity... etc etc etc

    pride decisions = popularity contest

it's the same with the UFC

if you arn't american then you better make sure you finish the fight

Pride's decisions tend to be more controversial when it's too foreigners fighting. Sometimes pride will go with the one that is just more exciting despite in the eyes of the people losing the fight e.g. Ricco vs Nog.

Silva should have won considering the weight disadvantage but they probably thought that the knockdowns were the main points of the fight. Hunt was pretty impressive in that match.

Silva did really well and dominated hunt for most of the fight. His "atomic butt drop" did not impress me. I can do that shit on much lighter opponents... doesn't mean I am more skilled.

well he did knock down silva twice and landed some nice Gnp

For all silva's domination he didn't come close to subbing Hunt and his gnp was weak.

I still think Silva should have won but i understand why Hunt did
