Any of the A-series from Canon are decent. I have an A75 and people have a hard time believing some of the shots I've taken came from that camera.

Sonys are overpriced, and even more overpriced if you're planning on buying from Best Buy. That's the only advice I can give

You will be pissed with the picture quality from that Sony.

I like Sony's more their bigger body P&S but go with a SD1000 Canon.

That Canon SD1000 doesn't look too bad (I'm a COMPLETE noob when it comes to pictars).

At first, I just wanted a pocket cam to start taking more pics. But, the more I started looking into this sub-forum, the more interested I started to get in taking good pictars.

So, should I just go ahead and buy an XTi before I change my mind? lol. I know nothing about photography, but after looking around here, it might be something I'd like to get into.

SD1000 (K.I.S.S) or XTi (Man the fuck up and buy one) ???

Get the P&S for now and decide if it's really something you want to get into or if you're just liking the results you see elsewhere.

K.I.S.S. unless you are prepared to spend more than just the amount of the XTI.
