Fuck your goddamn frontage roads. :madfawk: Why the fuck can't you just use normal exits like the rest of the country.

    I'm in the DFW area.

Every time I'm in a city in Texas, frontage roads dominate the highway and interstate entry/exit system. It makes me want to kill people.

I guess I'm just used to it, but it seems to work.

Hmm. Are they 2-way roads down there? I can't remember. Here in the panhandle, they're one way. I'm not too fond of the 2-way frontage roads.

    Seems to be mostly 1-way.

Most of the two way frontage roads around here are when you get outside the city limits, I can only think of a few actually in the main DFW mess.

I'm in Grapevine (staying at the Gaylord Texan because a large fencing tournament is hosted here... fuck this place :ugh:).

I can say for certain that I do not care for the frontage road system.

Note to self: poke Razardica in the eye when I finally move out to the Phoenix area.

Its been about 5 years since I've been in DFW, I couldn't remember. I guess I still have no idea what Emfuser is talking about then.

The frontage roads on 121 in the vicinity of the Gaylord Texan are even more fucked up than usual for DFW with the bizzare 2499 interchange. I marvel at that wonder of traffic engineering twice a day. At roughly 20 MPH both times.

Otherwise, I guess it's what you're used to...

I mean, I think I know what it is, the road that follows the highway, but what's so bad about those?

I think he's actually talking about slip-roads, or whatever else you want to call them. Like an exit ramp that's actually a road, with an extra intersection thrown in.

In GA the frontage rds usually are along the highway but shift away from it near the exits so it's a diff intersection. In the carolinas they kind of blend the 2 together, probably similar to what is being referred to in TX. It's a bitch because you have a bunch of people trying to get over across each other simultaneously.

    Am I understanding the OP?

    Right

That's pretty goddamn irritating, but would maybe be less so if I weren't driving a gut-less rental. I don't find this confusing, except on the occasions where the feeder/frontage takes me away from where I'm trying to go.
