When it comes to overall quality and file size of a movie. I haven't seen anything else that comes even close. I really wanted to go with a QuickTime format, but the most it can be squeezed down to is 149 MB - and that's with crappy quality. Now, in a DivX format - it's 55 MB and it looks damn good. The only bad thing is that most normal people don't have the DivX drivers/Codec on their machine. Is there something even better than DivX? I can't think of any... Name it, and I'll suck your e-cock.

I don't think so... but if you're looking for compatibility, WMV might be a choice... :o

    Xvid?

  5. I like XVID. The fact that 2 pass encoding is pretty much built in and that it is open source unlike DIVX makes me happy.

I encode everything with xvid now. :big grin: Less compatibility though, since people don't always have the latest version of xvid installed....

I'm not too fond of xvid personally. I've encoded videos with it and I've found that Divx produces better quality.

they say that in 2.0, they'll have a job list function in which that'll happen.

for now, only 1 job at a time :hs:

but, gotta love the quality and speed :bigthumb:

I've been using the WM Mpeg-4 V3 codec with a lot of success lately.

I watched a eurotrip rip that was 230MB. I thought it would be a shity cam or something.

No, it was a full size dvd rip, good audio and good video. Not crystal clear, but damn... for 230 that was amazing.

    It was realplayer (.rmvb extension)
