GUN Deal Extreme Flashlight Crew, Help Me

Discussion in 'On Topic' started by Market Garden, Dec 2, 2008.

  1. I'm looking for a flashlight for my AR. I want something not very expensive (under $50) preferably, very bright (maybe 250 lumens :hs:), decent quality, preferable uses CR123 batteries, and preferably with a momentary tailcap switch. I have looked around on sites like Deal Extreme, as I remember them being brought up every time there is a flashlight thread. Does such a light exist?

Under $50 for an AR, and 250 lumens, AND decent quality? WTF? Good luck.

    Go Surefire, or go home.

I liked my Pentagons but have since switched to a TLR1. I don't need tons of output and it weighs next to nothing compared to an X3.

  4. Thanks, but I don't really need a flashlight that badly. I just want one. If I can't find one that I like for a reasonable price, then I won't get one. I have a Surefire Z2L that I use all the time.

EDIT: There are a bunch of lights on there for under $50, and I've seen people discuss their merits here before, so I just figured I'd see if anyone remembered what was usually said.

Usually when I see people post about DealExtreme here, it usually has something to do with a G2 + some Cree drop in...no idea what drop in though :o

  6. I actually just gave up and ordered a Fenix TK10

    go to www.live.com
    search for surefire
click on the 30% cashback link for ebay
buy any item that comes up from that search
    pay with paypal
wait 1 month and get 30% of your purchase back

  9. I went with the TK10 because it's not going to get much use, and I'd rather not deal with rechargeable batteries. Also, it's a little lighter than the TK11, and I'm trying to keep this rifle as simple and light as possible.

Almost tempted to buy an A2 or another Eotech.

  11. I'm too impatient. One of my friends just bought a Surefire 500A on ebay tonight. I didn't even think of the 30% cash back. I should tell him now just to piss him off.

Reports are that if you buy from a power seller the cash back is instant.

  13. An A2 AR-15 rifle? I'm missing something here, aren't I?

Didn't realize the TK11 was heavier. The TK10 and TK11 are both designed to run regulated on CR123A batteries. Rechargeable batteries aren't required in the TK11. Anyway, hope you enjoy your new light. :wavey:

I know right? Even though most of my lights are brighter, there's something about the A2 that I like.

  18. I knew the 11 could run on 123s too, but I didn't want a weight penalty for a feature I'd never use.

  19. I remember the days of thinking my Z2L was super bright. I'm spoiled now.

Get an EagleTac T10C2. Realistic 290+ bulb lumens (measured on CPF), and they run about $60.

i got the two on the right from dealxtreme
$45 for the big one, $20 for the smaller. both ~230 lumens. the larger one is a thrower and keeps a 6-10ft beam at 200 yards

What mount did you use for the smaller light? I have the same one from DX and want to mount it on my AR. Thanks
