As awesome as Deadpool is, he's always been kind of a cool little secret for people who were really into comics. Unless you really read any one of his three volumes and mini's, you would not know how awesome he is. He wasn't someone that you let your little brother or nephew or cousin or whatever read about, because of how fucking insane and hilariously evil he was. No, that's not a comic book role model. This is probably why Marvel never really promoted him, I mean, why would they? He's a cancer ridden uggo with a propensity for irresponsibility like a burlesque swedish man on the beaches of Thailand.

But now, oh, but now. Now every asshole who has seen the Wolverine movie now thinks that Deadpool is "OMG ssoooooooooo AWESOME!!! DID YOU SEE HOW BADASS HE WAS?"

To which I respond, "No. No. No. No. I say, No. Fuck you. shut up. SHUT UP. Do not talk of him like that. SHUT UP. You can't say that. You don't know what he is. DO NOT TURN HIM INTO A BANDWAGON YOU SON OF A BITCH. NO. NO. NO. NO!"

It's been an interesting couple of days. All of the people I talk to, who I consider aquaintances mind you, regularly who have never really had much of an interest in comics or anything comic book related have recently seen the movie. Of course now, after having dabbled their eyes on the wikipedia entry of Deadpool, are EXPERTS on Deadpool. They know all about his "cancer/healing factor duality" problem. Oh gee golly, wow! Really? Amazing. You must REALLY know what Deadpool is all about.

Plainly to say, Deadpool is going to turn into a bad bandwagon. Goodbye my favorite comic book secret. I will go now to my Nova, walking dead, invincible and pray that they don't make any movies of them soon. I'll enjoy you with my comic book buddies who really enjoy them and have spent the time to read all of your books and not just a wikipedia entry and claim to know "all about" you.

    Your brother in christ,

    Sirc

as much as i want a thor movie to come out i really dont simply for the reason that when it does everyone will become a professional on thor. i have this one acquaitance who knows very little about comics. when a comic book movie comes out he takes the time to come find me and argue with me about them. but when he leaves he leaves with an understanding and some knowledge of things he wouldnt have known otherwise

    oh non-conformists...you make me laugh.

    deadpool was left out of EVERY marvel event since his inception, and all of his loyal fans screamed bloody murder;

    "PUT HIM IN AN EVENT!"

"YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD KICK ASS? DEADPOOL IN A VIDEO GAME!!"

"MAN DEADPOOL IN A MOVIE!? I'D TOTALLY CHOKE ON SOME COCKS TO SEE THAT!"

"DEADPOOL NEVER GETS THE RESPECT HE DESERVES! BLAH BLAH"

well now he's popular and all the little fan-boys are going to ditch him

btw, i didn't read any of that. i'm sure it has lots of whining and complaining though.

Yeah if fans "stop" liking deadpool because of a bandwagon that's lame. Not saying that's what you're doing, but I know it's gonna happen to a lot of deadpool fans. It is annoying having people talk about him like they know what he's about, so I will agree with you there.

I will always love Deadpool. I understand why Marvel doesn't put him in things, he's an unsavory and unmarketable character. I'm not going to ditch him. I am just :ugh: for the future when a bunch of dickwads come running to me and are all like, "OMG, DUDE DO YOU KNOW WHO DEADPOOL IS?! HE IS SO COOL!"

That. That is what I'm dreading. It would be cool if they read the books and we could talk about them. But they're gonna watch the movie and now know everything there is about Deadpool.

I'm not gonna stop liking Deadpool. It's just gonna suuuuuuuck to listen to people talk about how awesome he is not knowing a thing about him.

My plan is to be like, "I loved it when he did a shoryuken to wolverine."

And if they don't correct me I'm gonna shoryuken them.

Deadpool has been and always will be my favorite underdog.

If I knew flash better, I'd make a comic-style Deadpool vs. Origins Weapon XI game...

Where Weapon XI couldnt fight back and you had at least 50 ways to off him.

In Deadpool #8 and 9 and Thunderbolt 130 and 131, Deadpool feels that Osborne "stole" millions of dollars from him, so he goes to Avenger's tower and goes steal the money. He hires taskmaster to help him and Deadpool ends up getting his head cut off and Black Widow II sews it back together. Osborne thinks that he's dead.

    I hate that so much.

I was on AIM the other day and this faggot that I rarely ever talk to chimes in with:

Him: OMG Dead Pool is sooooooo awesome, man. I can't wait until his movie comes out. He is like the best Marvel character ever. I love how crazy he is!!!!!

Me: Deadpool. It's Deadpool. One word.

    Him: Whatever.

Me: Look, if you're going to pretend to be a fan boy at least spell his name right.
