At my gym the only oly bar that isn't on a bench is in the squat rack so if I DL in there its not like anyone is going to miss it.

Perfectly fine to do them there if there's no other open space

The ones with grips built in? I love em. My gym has only one rack, and its also the only place with a barbell that isnt a bench. So all of back day is pretty much spent in that one spot.

And usually they're always free cause most people jump on the leg press or smiths to work legs. If its occupied, its usually by faggots using teh rack for curls.

How do you figure? Put some clips on the ends, problem solved. plus the bar stays where you put it (doesn't roll), easier to add/remove during drop sets, and they're great for all types of other stuff like core work, shoulders, etc.

You can do deadlifts anywhere , why would you take up the squat rack?

    Ugh.

There are round plates with grips built in that work much better.

I hate the octagonal plates. I always have to take way too much time resetting the bar after I place it down. If you don't have all the plates lined up perfectly the bar rolls oddly.

Back OT, I do deads in front of that combined squat/curl/wtf rack. Most people just curl in those and the ones who squat in em can't go deep enough anyway.

Dude seriously just stop talking. Clips will not keep the weight from spinning and doing heavy deadlifts. If you would like to come to my gym and prove me otherwise please do. I will have the entire gym stop what they are doing and I will watch you rep 315 or higher.

I do mine there. And our gym only has round plates.

Most annoying thing for deadlifts ever.
