Does everyone skin their knees up on deadlift day or is it just me? Anything I can do or am doing wrong to have this happen?

is it that im not lifting enough, or lifting wrong?

edit - i fail to see the benefit of scratching the shit out of your leg when I can perform the DL without? :dunno:

that ain't it... it's just easier (i think... and it makes sense) to lift with the bar closer to you so that you don't have to worry about pulling it in once you stand up... also, it'll keep you from shifting your weight to your toes

i don't scrape the shit out of my legs, per se
but the higher in weight i go, the more conscious i am of driving with my heels... which leads to me keeping the weight closer to my body (so i don't have to pull it back in)... which means that sometimes i hit my shins on the way up

my heels always hurt after i finish a set of heavier deadlifts

i keep the barbell like an inch in front of my legs, so it barely messes up my shins, just a light red mark

I don't "drag" it per se...I only hit my knees on my descent. Do you guys do dead lifts as a touch & go or only do one at a time?...I've read articles that contradict one another. :dunno:
