In other news, I will have as many pics as possible of whatever display/special accomodations are made at the R.E. Olds Museum of that Alero as soon as I hear the car is in place there.
I will do what I can to get further pics; I'm gonna drive by the tube where all the cars come out at the end of the line (it's right by a bridge overpass) and see if I can catch any of the final 500 comming out (I dunno if they've reached the last 500 in production yet or if that will happen tomorrow.)
A LOT of my family in past generations worked for GM/Oldsmobile building cars or in plant management. I have tons of oldsmobile and fisher body memoribilia around the house here.... in good news, all of that will be worth BIG $$$$ in the near future, but at the same time it sucks the brand and all the history will be gone.
the cars they've made the last couple decades have been crap, so it was inevitable.
I really want to buy one of those "Final 500" cars and park it in a buble for about 50 years.... that would be the investment opportunity of a lifetime.
Oldsmobile.. I think the only nice car they made lately was the Aurora.... :~
good, maybe buick is next
ever since they eliminated all the "old stand-by" models.
My dad used to race for Oldsmobile in IMSA years ago.
People still buy Oldsmobiles? Oh, wait. I guess not.
lol, and i even drive an oldsmobile!
so, that doesn't make it ok to be glad GM and all of america's historic brands are dying.
If they made cars the market wanted, they'd still be around.
I used to have a Cutlass Supreme
how did olds remain unprofitable? they didn't design any new cars or engines. every Olds product was another rebadged GM vehicle
Its the last of the Olds to come off the assembly line and all they can do is slap some badges on them?
in other news oldsmobile hasn't produced an exclusive model for 30 years
an alero will never go up in value.
i bet it sucks for anyone needing oldsmobile parts, you won't be able to go to a dealer anymore to get anything
why? every olds is just different version of every GM in every other GM line...
its up to the car companies to keep up to date with providing the people with what they want, right now people want a ricer or a fast car or an suv, they made old people cars...
