Why is this super fast/expensive ram have timings such as 5-5-5-12?

I'm referring to OCZ and Corsair's top offerings. Shouldn't it be like 2-3-3... :dunno:

the clock frequency is higher on ddr2 (attained by electrical interface improvements, on-die termination, and prefetch buffers and off-chip drivers), thus a higher latency becomes a trade-off.

because its likely DDR2-1000 or DDR2-800. They could easily do 3-2-2-7 or whatever @ 300FSB. However P4s benefit a lot more from the added bandwidth than tigher memory timings.
