Pops is a lawyer, said in one of his "industry" news publications they said they will be looking at it starting Friday. He said all the pundits are saying it looks like it's going to come down to what the comma meant and how it was used at the time it was written :hsugh:

Considering that it is a debate b/w states rights and individual rights, I doubt it'll be the comma that does anything :hsugh:

If you want to read good commentary on this case I'd recommend looking for some by people like Eugene Volokh.

sounds like it should come down to the definition of the militia at that time, being all able bodied men, more than what the comma meant.

I don't think able body men would be the question, nor "weapons of common use at the time"

i like how it's been defined for the militia to use weapons in common use at the time, yet anti's shit bricks when we want AR15's :mamoru:

edit: not to mention basically any weapon that other branches of the armed forces use for whatever they need i.e. seals, SF, etc

this is not unique. Look at the UK. You can't own a handgun. And owning any weapon in the city is frowned upon (country not so much). Yet they have a well-armed military force.

i know. i'm merely pointing out that the typical citizen looks differently at a man in the military with a weapon vs. a citizen with a weapon.

and like it or not, the anti-gun people want us to become more like the UK.
