in light of the recent thread about DB and BB, which do you feel is more beneficial? myself, i love the db and much prefer it to bb. im not sure why, maybe its because i do not need a spotter, but i feel like thats a good enough reason. i just started lifting again after a bout with mono and laziness, but i just got back up to doing 10reps with 80lb db and i hope to continue the upward trend (obviously). i feel that the db use more (or different?) muscles because of the stabilization of the db's...

    well, what are your thoughts?

I do DB because I don't really have anyone to spot me.

both are great in their own way.
pressing with seperate DBs really helps make each arm provide the same amount of work on the lifts. a bb- you can compensate for a weaker side to lift it.

I do mostly DB because it's better for athletics, so I've been told. Once I finish I'll probably go back to BB

I dunno why I'm liking BB better. maybe I think I'm getting better pumps?
with DB's though, it has better ROM.

I didnt do bb for over a year cause I had no spotter and was just like whatever, but then decided to switch on and off. Myy bb numbers fucking suck now, it's like a completely new exersize to me....wish i never stopped. I like the bb now, i feel that it also helps with delt development which i needed. as soon as i started bb i could really feel it in my delts the next day. just my experience. id do both

My favorite for chest days is do BB/DB flat, DB incline, BB decline, and switch off BB and DB every other set for the flat. repeat X3
