I know that on days I want to cry, I watch a movie and just let it go. And I mean, a type of movie that's made to kind of stir up your emotions and have you cry.

What do you guys do to help? or if you guys do the same thing, what movie(s) would you recommend?

I'm running short on my list and so far, I've watched the list of movies that I set aside about 3x now. So I'm looking for more movies. XD

I love to watch movies too, or sometimes I write and I start crying. For me, it's easier to set my emotions down on paper. I'd recommend the Notebook, A Walk to Remember. I can't remember right now off the top of my head anymore, when I get home I'll take a look at my movies, I know I have a few others that are made so that you cry.

Phenomenon with John Travolta makes me cry like a baby every time I see it because it touches on issues that are very deep and personal to me.

Sometimes I just lay on my pillow and let it out :hs:. I think it goes away faster like that. Like someone said before me, sometimes I write my thoughts and whats making me upset. That helps flush it from the system as well.

Movies you might want to consider:
    Brokeback Mountain
    Requiem For a Dream
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

If I need to relax or am in a depressed mood, I take my guitar (or my computer for music) and i take a walk. I head out to somewhere I've never been before, take a long walk, sit down and play/listen to some music, and then head back.

    did it last night.

I dont really cry (well last time I really cried I was real drunk.. alone...) but when I wanna stir up my emotions i listen to depressed music.
And to be Cliché, I enjoy watching the Nine Inch Nails dvd- beside you in time, even when I dont feel down.
I watch moves not to stir up emotions but to make me temporarily forget how my life pretty much sucks, or when I'm just bored.
Cliffs- I listen to depressed music

Oh speaking of playing guitar, I really enjoy fucking around my guitar when I'm feeling down to, I like just recording me basically jamming out and then I work on programming drums, mixing it etc, a good to use up MANY hours.

I usually just hold shit until I can't anymore.

Then, I'll just go somewhere to be alone, and let it all out. Feels good.

This thread is not complete without someone mentioning "The Shawshank Redemption."

    :hs:

Every time I feel like I can't take it anymore, I watch it, and I hope that somewhere in the future there's a few happy days for me.

Why do some people have this mentality? Have you been force fed the idea that feeling is somehow wrong?

I've been wanting to let it all out for the longest time but I can't seem to bring myself to do it. The last time, it was music that triggered everything and the relief was overwhelming.
