    :noes:

Edit - what should I expect, any major things to watch out for, etc? Kind of nervous about it.

I guess I'm looking for things I should watch out for, how it affects me, other people's experiences...etc. :hs:

that, along with WHY you're taking it, would have been helpful in the first post.

If I had a good linear thought process I probably wouldn't need ADD meds now would I? :o

It's nothing to really worry about...take the correct dosage. When I started on it I had a loss of appetite...which isn't a horrible thing but you gotta remember to eat. I also noticed after a while an increase in irritability but nothing like getting pissed off for no reason and taking it out on someone.

What dose did they give you? Is it the XR?

  10. Well if you ate it you should just feel like doing ANYTHING. I used to snort them for fun and then play video games. :bowrofl: I would just get really into them. :o

well, I'll try to answer this seriously. Have you been prescribed an tried other meds for your ADD before? It's the same process...you try it for a few days/weeks, see if it makes a difference, watch out for side effects.

And if you're really worried about what the side effects could be, LOOK AT THE INFO SHEET!

I think the most trouble Adderal gave me was a reduced appetite.

Worst side effects I have had actually came from what I take now (Strattera), but that was simply from taking too high of a dose.

The weirdness you hear about is from people who recreationally use/abuse the drug.

Oh yeah, my response was assuming you were prescribed this by your doctor for a legitimate case of ADD.

ooh, and if you're lucky, you'll get it prescribed at a dosage that will help you and surprisingly NOT send you on a drug induced mania...

Seriously guys, if these meds are taken in the right dosage for ADD, they aren't gonna make you all happy/hyper...they will help you stay calm and focused.

Nothing to get all :noes: over

This is the first time I've ever been prescribed anything for ADD, and yes it's a legitimate prescription and I 'feel' that I've had ADD for awhile but never seeked any help until now.

I'd wager it's the amphetamines + caffeine making their way around your circulatory system.

I noticed dry mouth and cold fingertips + toes on Adderall. You should switch to Dexedrine. It does not have these side effects. I never noticed much appetite reduction from either at the recommended does but meh. Keep in mind that if you take it recreationally it is a COMPLETELY different drug. Dexedrine does have a better side effect profile though.

Btw, caffeine can interact as a synergy with Adderall.

XR and regular is the same fucking thing. XR was made just to extend the patent.

Just don't take too much or you will never sleep again.

I actually noticed some of that cold fingertip thing yesterday and wasn't sure if it was a side-effect of the med.

I also had the worst cramps in my feet, calves and thighs I've had in forever. If that keeps up I'm NOT going to keep taking it.

This is totally not recreational, I'm actually taking only half of the prescribed dosage (1 in the morning instead of 1 every 12 hours) or 'as needed' for work/study.

I thought XR was the extended release where it would periodically release in your system instead of just one lump 'rush'. :dunno:

Extended release is just a scam to extend patents. Adderall is generic now but if you get XR then you are paying twice as much for the same thing.
