So I just backed up all my files on to an external hard drive and formatted my regular HD, reinstalled windows and all that (just cleaning things up, system was running a little slow). but when I went to plug my external back in to get my files its saying that its not formatted and that its empty (and it gives me the option of formatting it) :wtc: I'll save you the sob story about all the important shit that was on there but needless to say I was pissed. Anybody know of a good data recovery program I could fix this with?

it didnt need drivers, you could just plug it into any computer with firewire or usb. I think it may have come with drivers but I never needed them in the past (on any computer).

GetDataBack NTFS or FAT works quite well for this type of situation.
