Anyone know a good data recovery software (preferably freeware) for Win2K? I have a few files that were accidentally deleted that I'd like to get back if possible. I ran a scan with "Recover my Files" and found the files intact (they reside on a drive that is rarely used), but the company wants $80 to actually recover the data back to the drive. Can anyone recommend a less expensive alternative?

I've found that GetDataBack works pretty well. Its not freeware, but I can help you out with that.

Would these work for files that had been deleted permanently? I deleted some files I am now in need of, and don't know if it's possible to get them back.
