data files on a dvd+r

    so i burned a bunch of documents and pictures onto a dvd+r. now when i open it with my computer, i can see all of the files but it wont let me copy them to my hard disk..i can only view them. how can i copy them?? i get this error:

    "cannot copy ________ : Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

    Are you tying to read the disc in the same drive that burned it? If so, it might just be a bad burn. Try again. If you're trying to read it in another DVD-ROM drive, welcome to DVD+/-RW compatibility hell. Try burning a -R and see if it will read. I hope you have a dual format burner.
     

  3. I always thought cyclical redundency errors were because the disks have gone bad, either natural deteriation or abuse by scratches. It's not based on scientific proof, but when I kept getting that burning CDRs, I promptly switched brands and have not seen one since.

    i burned some stuff to the dvd+r and formatted my comp...then put it in the same drive. it will open the files through the dvd but it wont copy to my computer. its weird...
