Bassically it was on mma weeklys main page. He said that it didnt make sense for most guys but he is willing to let anderson silva chase after and if he can defend both titles at the same time. He just said that yeah this one lhw fight isnt a one time thing. Anderson is going to attempt to climb up and get a title shot at the LHW title and try and hold both titles at the same time the way that dan henderson did.

What do you guys think about this? I dont think that Anderson will be able to do it just yet because one of his team mates / training partners (lyoto machida) is in title contention and some people say hes next in line to challenege for the lhw title.

What do you guys think of all of this.

Silva was coming off of knee surgery when he fought Lutter.

I think this only makes sense for him being that he has cleared out the UFC's slim 185lb division. I dont think he will be able to get the belt at 205 but he will certainly make some noise. If I was Silva I would want to do the same, just to stay competitive and have a new challenge. Hopefully somebody at 205 will make him fight past the second round.

  3. his power won't be as nasty at lhw, and it's a MUCH deeper division than 185.

That said, I'd like to see him fight chuck.

I think almeidia might be able to pose a problem for him and hendo if he gets a rematch will be able to beat him no doubt

  5. palhares, almeida, and maia are all dangers to him, if he can get past Okami

what is the lightest he fought at?

I'd rather see the UFC acquire talent for him and GSP to beat rather than force them to change weight classes for entertainment. If he really thinks Silva is the shit then fly in kang, Akiyama, etc to fight him.

That would be preferable but is highly unlikely.

It's cool that he is willing to go up for the challenge. I don't see him doing as well as he did as a mw though.

I can't tell if you're joking or not, but if you're not I'll bite. So in 20 pounds Hendo is going to gain 20 in skill also?

I think andersons only threat at 205 is a lucky shot to the jaw, since i don't really know how good his chin is; and the dudes at 205 like rampage and chuck can hit like a truck. I can't think of anyone at 205 that will out-strike (technically speaking) or out-BJJ him.

I think hendo can beat him at 205. he just had a bad weight cut when he fought anderson and even then he managed to dominate him the first round. if he didnt cut weight and fought at full streghnth he would kick the crap out of anderson silva. Look at hendo vs silva and hendo vs rampage. Theres a world of difference.

I think that difference has more to do with Silva than with just the weight alone.

nah he was sluggish the whole fight and if you compare it to rampage he was slanging and over powering rampage. Anderson isnt any where near as strong as rampage you can tell by build alone. He managed to dominate anderson and made his striking ineffective.

He has a good chin... theres the vidoe of him getting wailed on for practice.

He seems to loose when he gets cocky... Like Takase.
I think Rua, Wanderlei, and Machida pose threats to him, and maybe Palhares.

Since him and Machida are friends I wonder if they would fight?

Anderson has made everyone look sluggish though. Look at Leben, Franklin, and Marquadt and you can see they all look out of their element. I think just about everyone has also said that he is deceptively strong, much stronger than they thought he would be. I agree that Dan didnt look to be Dan but think that is just what Anderson does to people.
