Thank God for roadside assistance - I needed a boost to get home yesterday and a boost this morning to get to work.

Now I have to go to Costco at lunch to buy a new battery.

Damned AZ heat - the car's only 7 months old.

doesn't the battery have a 1 year warranty or something?

    :dunno:

But I'm not near a dealer so I'll just get a Costco one - 3 year replacement plan FTW.

I've been really lucky so far - but I also plan to replace mine every 2-3 years.

Sucks that this one only lasted 7 months - but then again, I have no idea how long my car sat at the dealer's lot before I bought it.

ok not to be a complete idiot, but roll starting a car will help you start it with a dead battery?

Any particular reason why? not sure how the fact that the car is moving would impact how much juice it takes to fire up the starter.

only works on manuals. no idea why it works. alternators, batteries etc. point it down a hill....let her roll and pop the clutch

The dealer is pretty far away from where I am now.

And after doing some research on LS2GTO, I found that many people have problems with the stock battery so I don't want another one.

I'm going to get an Optima 35-720/910 red top instead - pricey but that seems to be everyone's favorite.

I understand, sometimes it isn't worth spending $20 in gas to get something worth $30 for free

It's becuase of the long time they sat around doing nothing on the ship from Australia. Jump the car, then take it back to the dealer. They'll replace it.

when you buy the battery buy a jumpbox as well...

$70 bucks vs. being stranded on the side of the road for an hour.

I've also read that the stock batteries really suck - mine looks like it partially boiled over.
