I shot about 200 shots today of gospel singer Shirley Caesar for the cover of a woman's clothing catalog. I agreed to send the publisher the RAW files so they could do their own touchup and make the pics ready for print.

I've been burning files to CD's for the last hour and I'm still not done! :squint:

5D. I had to convince the publisher that the camera was up to the task.

Raw files shouldn't take any longer than normal data files of similar size to burn... :dunno:

I've got 2.5 G's of files and I'm using 700mb CD's. I'm also burning at the slowest rate to make sure I don't lose any files. Plus I'm verifying each disc.

I probably should have done that. Oh well, 5 CD's later and I'm done.

A couple of quick pics from the shoot.

I thought you were going to have a situation like mine

Ive been shooting SRAW for stuff that isn't needed in full 3888x2592

I only have an AMD 3200 XP with 1gb ram, the ram is running at 333mhz instead of 400 because the MB doesn't like the computer running at true speed, it BSOD's and I've tried many combos of ram :wtc:

It takes about 3 minutes for a single raw to process my LR tweaks, resize, rename/sort, and save.

to do a whole 2gb worth would take about 3-5 hours just in exporting :o

I really need to build a dual or quad core machine

My computer is plenty fast enough. Exporting pics only takes a few seconds per shot. I should have burned the files to a DVD instead of CD's.
