  2. There's one for sale on SH too. It's one of the few communist military rifles I'd like to own.

You don't really dig the ruskie stuff huh?

  4. I'm not really big on old military rifles of any flavor. The Dragunov is rare and interesting (and at least somewhat accurate) though.

If I had $2200 to blow I'd snatch that up in a heartbeat.

    How cheap/available is ammo?

  8. It's 7.62x54R, the same stuff that Mosins shoot.

How accurate is a dragunov compared to say a purpose built AR10 for the same price?

  12. It really depends on the ammo. The military spec for the Dragunov's sniper ammo is a little over 1 MOA according to wikipedia. With standard 7.62x54R it's a little over 2 MOA. For $2200 you could build a pretty nice AR10.

Yeah, that's kind of what I assumed. Kind of relegates them to a novelty.

You would be instantly worshipped by COD kiddies though. Especially if you put gold plated or red tiger'd it up. :mamoru:

That being said, I've always been fascinated by the Dragunov and wished I had a pile of money laying around that I didn't have any other good use for.

Yeah, they're cool. There's just a lot of other stuff i'd buy/build first.

That's not exactly a "real" Dragunov.

Those are hunting rifles, imported into the US. Kinda the Saiga equivalent of an actual SVD, but gayer.

They made them in 308, which might be kinda neat.

One of those KBI guns sold unfired on ARFCOM like last year.

Wanting to say it was like $12k.

Sucks they are now a "collectable". I would like to have a go at a 308 version if they were still in the $1500 range.
