    I talked to my riflery teacher here at school about federal. They used to ship him cases of ammo to use for class at no cost. Now they still help him out, but he has to pay for it. As for Federal's .223, apparently the government told them they could either produce loads and loads of .223 for military use or they would go ahead and take over their facility. Needless to say, federal decided to produce for the military and received alot of funding for facility improvements from the US gov. This move pretty much wiped out the civilian .223 market for federal.
