When i call they try to sell me other crap and say that the camera menus are not in english etc... Has anyone baught a camera form a place that was not trying to pull some shit? I have money to give to a good buisness. Id like to get a good deal but I will not give my money to an someone that annoying.

it might have just been worth your time to go to a local camera shop.. You'll pay more, but you will have the camera that day, and not have to put up with bullshit, and if something is wrong with it, you can return it.

I hate doing it too, I'm always up for saving a buck... but every time i do buy something from a retail shop, i feel much better about my purchase

I guess ill look around at local shops. Its so annoying that people cannot just sell a product and make honest money. Any opinions on this camera... I was between the digital rebel and the d70. The thing that threw me over was that I have a N80 35mm and would like to keep it all in the family.

    beach camera is buy dig.com

look at resellerratings.com the companies you're trying to order from aren't going to score high.

buydig.com did want me to confirm my 1dII, but it was because the amount was so high. they didn't try to sell anything, you talk to the finance dept not the sales. i ended up canelling it becuase WAMU wonuldn'd allow a transaction over 2500 on my debitcard despite having enough money.

i bought my camera from buydig. great prices and service but not so good at packing thier products. when i opened the package, there wasnt enough packing material in the box to cushion properly or to keep the camera box in place. we all know shipping companies throw packages around.

Usually all of my photo and video equipment comes from B&H Photo. However I bought my D70 from http://www.onecall.com They were willing to match the price of any other reputable online dealer.

they sell for msrp, but less things to go wrong. They have the worlds largest selection, so shopping there is easy. but it is possible to get a better price without going to a brooklyn "discount" store

feel free to pay more then. They're good for some things, but overpriced.

see how much it would be to ship a roll of seamless. 180-200 depending on how fast you want it. the paper only cost 110

Sometimes to me it's worth paying more knowing it's coming from a reputable and hassle-free source.

While BH is great with service and everything, keep in mind when you buy lenses from them, they DO restock returned lenses and they DO resell them, even if they were returned for "backfocusing" or not being the sharpest lens that a third party manufacturer, for example, has made. Sure, you can return that lens again, but it's sort of a hassle.

:wiggle: With that said, I buy everything from BH. :wavey:

200 shipping on a simple (all be itt long) item? Samys, calumet etc or from a actual seamless retailer is no where near that amount.

I've ordered from B&H many times, and while they have done their part, there really was nothing special or any savings

Ordering used from a reputible place with sample photos is the way to go
