My D700 came this morning so I went out this afternoon to a local park and snapped some pics.

These are unedited other than some really quick cropping. Just wanted to get some pics up.

I dont know much about this - but if you are just bumping your ISO way up in full day light is that really showing much? Go take some pictures in a bar or something. Pics look good though

A lot of the flowers are in deep shade. I was focusing from inches away with a 105mm lens. I needed decent shutter speed for sharp pics so I set the auto ISO minimum shutter speed up around 1/160s.

They're not all at high ISO. Only a few.

    Yes...

Except for the last one which is the 14-24 2.8. I spotted the church on the way home from the park. Pulled my car over where you're not supposed to pull over, took a pic, got back in my car and drove away all in about 10 seconds. :mamoru:

It's unbelievable. You're not supposed to be able to build a wide angle this good, zoom or prime.

Bjørn Rørslett calls it "the new reference for wide-angle zoom lenses". Pretty bold statement, and definitely true.

Oops, sorry. I meant the 105 macro.

I just picked up a sigma 10-20 not too long ago that is sufficient for my wide angle shooting, at least for now.

I do want a macro though, so, again, how do you like the 105mm macro ;)

LOL sorry. I also love it. If you try to use autofocus on really close up macro shots sometimes the focus will hunt. But you should be using manual focus anyways in those situations. Otherwise it's great.

    I'd love a full-res of the leaf #13 for a background. 1920x1200

Started shipping last Friday the 25th. The exact day when Nikon said it would in the original press release. 25 days after announcement.
