Should I buy the D300 and some nicer lenses
The D700 and one or two cheaper primes?
What do you usually shoot?
D700 + Tamron 28-75 2.8.
Everyone always says glass over body right?
The two cams aren't that different so I'd take the nicer glass myself.
D300 and nicer lenses. Glass > Body
Is what you REALLY want, the D700 plus some nicer lenses?
Then find a way to do that.
Although the bodies are fairly similar, so I'd take D300 plus more lenses if I had to choose.
Lenses really make the shot, I can't see the diff between the D300 and D700 being that significant most of the time.
Id get the 700 and primes. Mostly because I really dont like the 300 though.
300 + nice glass.
Depends on what you shoot and what your plans with photography are. I would have gone with the D300+glass but since I'm at school for photography and I can rent lenses/equipment for free I knew my 50 and 85 1.8's would hold me over til I could get lenses of my own (for the 700). Worst case scenario I put my 18-70 on it but 5.--MP FTL.
Not to thread hijack but 12-24 Tokina FS: make me an offer through PM
my d200 + 70-200 will take better pictures than your d700 + 18-55 kit lens.
Shit, I'm not sure I can afford to switch to Nikon now. Shit is so much more expensive.
whatchu looking at getting? i bet i can find it for cheaper
Switching platforms is never easy.
Esp. at the moment. I've got a new car on the way and will have to pay for it. Maybe I should just keep the 30d and sell the 24-70 for some cheaper primes. God, I suck at life.
there are millions that have it worse. Like adamlewis88... he lives in KENTUCKY.
and Girth.. he's half Bigfoot
Why not just scale the whole thing back to start off with...
80-200 2.8 ~$800
17-50 2.8 $420
sb600 - $180
or Whitey... he's a troll.
On the plus side, you will retain your e-cool status on OTAP by sticking with Canon.
