If youre using an EN-EL4a in the grip, you dont need the EN-EL3 in the body, right?

the grip has a separate battery... the camera will work w/ no battery in the body... so the assumption is, yes.

wtf was so mean about that?

You asked a question you probably knew the answer to. You're the one that works at a camera store, you shouldn't be asking easy questions like that. :slap:

Also, why is the D700 so cheap at B&H? Is it on sale?

I hope they don't announce a D700 replacement to soon, I want my D4 or D3x before then and want a decent price for my D700 body.

Thinking of hawking it for like $1700ish eh?

So with the grip for the D700, why doesn't it support just 2 EN-EL3 like the D80/D90 grip? I have a case of those fucking batteries. Fucking assholes

You can use another EL3 if you want but a single EL4a will give you better life than two EL3 batteries AND it will give you the 8fps.

6 or 7 FPS that she does now is more than the body can keep focus with.

Not to mention makes to many extra images.

Shooting polo I am often using the Ch on the 600mm but fuckkk, focus can't keep up, so I end up manually focus locking at last second and do a little burst of 3 when I forsee the action happening.

If I have 4 EL3s probably makes sens to stay with that platform no?

It does 5 out of the box and if youre having trouble keeping it on target, I think its user error :ugh:

    really?

Try tracking a horse and player moving down a 350 yard field with a 600mm... let me know how that goes.

Please tell me sir, how should I be doing it to avoid my said user error?

    *queue some piano music*

    Dear Adam,

Please show me all the pictures that came off of the body that day so I can see how every single picture in a fast shutter exposure is accurately focused. Oh wait, they do what I do and hand select the good ones. Well Adam I hope you can still keep argueing with me over the internet, please now take our your D700 and your 600mm and show me how it is done, I want 15 frames in rapid succession all 100% focused and composed off of the body. I really want to bow down at your epic abilities with the camera, so please sir show me. Show me so I can tell my kids about the day, the day that Adam the great taught me how to use my gear properly, so I could put food on the table, let us speak your name in the blessing of every meal for the rest of time. Please Adam help me, I beg of you, sir don't let this moment pass with out giving in to the longing chance to teach someone. Don't let the moment pass to allow us all to  and worship the ground you walk on. Some of us are not lucky enough to be blessed with the intelligence and talent that god must have in-stowed on you, but not just through Jesus but through amazing DNA. Please Adam, show to us from your blessed hand.

    God Bless you Sir,
    Heinz
