If you own any decent glass for the rebel G, get the 300d.

most folks that own a Rebel G don't have a whole lot of expensive glass to hold them back

additionally if you want to do black and white work with digital, the nature of the grain on the d70 tends to appear more film like than on the digital rebel

Just pick a system and go with it. I personally find that Nikon bodies feel much better in my hands than the Canon equivalents.

i've had my d70 for a little over a month and im absolutely in love. its an amazing camera. the 300d to me felt really cheap when i held it and it was too small for my hands. i have small hands too.

my opinion play with both, the 350 and the d70, they are pretty much equal in terms of features, but they handle quite differently. If it was the d70 vs the 300 then id say the d70 NO CONTEST.

the other thing to look for is how to access the features and where the buttons are. I love where the buttons are for the d70 and didn't care for where they were for the 300. I also don't care for the hesitation it has when it wakes from sleep...

oh please they are still excellent choices, and extremely usable in many situations, just because they have over a year doesn't make them unusable
