I got my D70 when it first came out, at first i was very impressed but now I notice most of my pictures are slightly out of focus or the images look "soft".

    I've tried raw vs jpg
all the different Autofocus settings, switching from auto to portrait...

What is most annoying is when taking group photos, two or three of the people are slightly out of focus.

Is there anyway to get everyone in focus for group shots? :o

    thanks...

i think he is talking about f/stop. what f/stop are you using? usually f/5.6 or f/8 would take care of this out of focus problem you are having.

Wide open he will be at 3.5 with the kit lens.

You really need more as everyone else suggests.

you can see that the kinda cute chick in the middle bottom is in focus, everyone else are fuzzy.

I can upload higher res if needed.

    Thanks guys!

You shot at f/4.2. I'd suggest shooting at f/8.0 when people are not standing directly next to each other. This will increase your depth of field at the expense of having more of the background in focus.
