with the 350d you might only be able to get a kit lense and a smaller card.

So i would say go with the d70

I'm beginning to see why people rave so much about the rear command dial. :hsd:

D70... only because D50 doesn't have dual dials and also does not have illuminated top LCD. Sucks when shooting in the dark and not be able to see settings there. Besides that the D50 takes great pictures.

i like my 350D. And the dial on the back is not a big deal for me. All of the setting are really easy to change. Good camera. I paid $900 for the body and the 18-55mm kit lens from Costco. You can order it online too

    I own a D70 and have used a 350D quite a bit and I'd go with a D70 if I had to choose again.

Nikon seems to have better cameras and Canon seems to have better glass. However, you can have amazing results with both.

There are very few people out there (if any) can really proove the difference between the two based solely on pictures. I have yet to see one.

I think that before you make any decisions, go to a store and play with each camera. You are most likely going to love the feel of the Nikons.
