Why are the ISO samples from the nikon smaller? They should make them the same size.

my assumption is due to the 100% crop and wanting to compare the same exact spot for continuity of the test. No point in enlarging the d3s file to match the res of 5dmkii and 1dmkiv, since it would skew the results.

Thanks. That did not come to mind right away. Makes perfect sense though.

If they were all the same MP, do you think the ISO results would be significantly different?

Sweet. They're both badass cameras. I'd take either one!

probably. I think the reason the d3s can do what it can, is due to the larger pixels.

I think I read something that said that the D3s is cleaner due to a larger sensor and less MP? I have no idea about that shit.
    :o
Yeah. I love it though. I hate the facade of a perfect and happy society and all the sheep that follow it. :mamoru:

Yeah this probably holds quite a bit of truth, more light can hit each pixel and less pixels for the cpu to deal with. 8MP is all you really need for even the biggest prints (from what I have seen printed by a few local people) the higher MP just gives you more room for cropping, although this is valuable too.

exactly what was to be expected. D3s winning the high iso side, and canon winning with a weebit more responsiveness when acquiring focus. But when focus is acquired its hard to tell the difference between the bodies.
