This particular photo has vertical banding issues when viewed in full res. It's not just in the typical areas of extreme brightness and darkness meet. It's all over the black paint of the car, and the shrubbery to the right.

Guess I'll be sending mine back in to Melville before the original warranty expires in December.

Have any of you ever experienced something like this? Only the two images shot from this angle had this issue, none of the other images had this problem.

And I had minor banding with V1.0 firmware, I am on V2.0 firmware, which is what this image was shot with. Look at the gray beams up top, can even see banding on them.

Yeah we would like the full pic ... kinda odd why you would post a resized image and not the one where the banding is visable :ugh:

The 2.0 Firmware fixed all my banding issues. It wasn't in the official documentation, but it did it.

Yeah, I'd send that in. Did you have to overexpose the image in processing? That can sometimes bring out noise/banding/whatever.

No, that is straight out of the camera.

I'll give them a call this week and get the procedure for doing a warranty claim.

    :)

Glad to hear your D200s are working OK after the V2.0 upgrade.

Mine was an early one, too, SN 22xx

Hope you get it resolved with minimal downtime.

Geeking over "noise" is retarded when you look at an image like that. It's fine. You can print it 36x24 and it will look great (I've done that).

I'm not trying to hijack this thread, but does anyone know if its possible for a D70 to experiance banding in the LCD monitor? Last night I was taking pictures of my brother and mom and there was banding ALL OVER their face. Doesn't show up in 100% view.

If it's not in your final product, I wouldn't worry about it.
