    Per Angus on CZF.

CZ USA have informed us that there will be a significant price increase come January 2009.
    I think somewhere around 10%
So if you have been thinking about purchasing a new CZ, I suggest buying before the price increase.

(2 year chart of USD v CZK)

I'm not sure how well people will take to the dollar rising to the CZK and them raising their prices. They still are far from popular here and price is one of the things they have going for them.

Meh, it was bound to happen. Good shit sells itself, and they weren't going to stay cheap forever.

Oh I don't mean it like it would be the death of them or anything but don't you think price plays a role in getting people to try them? When your average guy with only a passing interest in shooting comes in he knows that $500-550 will get him a glock, springfield, or smith and wesson. Do people give the CZ line a second look because its a little cheaper than the names they know? I would think so but maybe I underestimate the popularity of the line.

Hard to say.... Myself I think the lower price also kind of kills them - it's possibly they are priced below the market. I think some people see the cheap price, and the unheard of name and think that CZ is just offbrand junk. While CZ is somewhat popular on the internet, they still don't seem to be IRL (outside of IPSC/IDPA circles).

Perfect example is the CZ40B. This gun was somewhat co-developed by Colt, and is pretty much a 75B wrapped in a 1911ish shell. It was being blown out for <$300, and still didn't sell. Everyone was asking me what was wrong with them that they sold so cheap.

So I can see both ways. I think you might have people who aren't "gun" people looking for a cheap gun, but I think you have "gun people" who are turned away from it because of the cheap price. I suppose they reputation that they have (or are cultivating) will determine whether they can do well at the higher price point. I personally think they will.

It's ridiculous that the 5 round magazines for the rimfire rifles cost as much as any other magazine they sell.

On the first day of hunting season I lost the bolt for my 452 and they said it was $180 to replace. I was pissed (at them and myself) but luckily it was found the next morning (over 300 acres of land).

You can try galleryofguns.com for CZ also. I got my SP01 through there years ago. My last CZ I picked up at a local shop. CZ 75 D PCR. Love both of them. Not one issue with either.

I've been debating a RAMI. I suppose now would be as good a time as any for it.
