Might sound like a dumb question, but is it smart to cycle off protein?

I take ON Whey Gold protein and have been on it for about 4 months now...i drink a gallon of water a day just to avoid any kidney stones etc.

Is it generally unsafe or not a good idea to be on the protein powder for too long?

    thanks

It's addicting and can destroy lives if you're not careful. Use it in strict moderation.

protein intake at 1g protein per lb body mass (even regular not just lean) will not cause kidney issues unless you have a preexisting kidney condition. If you do have a condition, consult your doctor, not us.

not being a dick but i want to explain that powder isn't a supplement it's just protein, like you find in food. there is nothing magical to it. you wouldn't cycle on and off chicken breasts so there's no reason to cycle protein powders.

You know what, I've actually heard teachers in school say it's not good to take protein powder because it causes kidney failure. Blame the education system.

I like to cycle off one week a month, so 5-7 days of just ketchup and pancakes.

Kidney stones are almost completely genetic with a small serving of caffeine and probably sugar intake.

I would cycle off for a couple of weeks every 3 months or so, just because you don't want to get gyno.

I have less issues with kidney stones taking in 250g+ of protein then when I was taking in 32oz soda a day ...
