I have been lifting minimum of 5 days a week for the past ten years. I am dedicated and never fell off the wagon. I am about 6'0 180lbs. Maybe 15-18 body fat. I would like to cut up a bit. I do minimum of 15 minutes of cardio, lift and abs everyday. I need something to give me that extra edge. Surfing will start in March which always helps to lose about five lbs because of the extra cardio. Any supplements you would suggest? I don't want to take a million different pills. One or two maybe.

You've been lifting for that long and don't know any cutting supps?

Animal Cuts and Lipo-6 are popular ( and overpriced, of course )

Abs are made in the kitchen. Cutting supps are usually a good diuretic, energy boost, and some appetite curbing. Some people take it for the placebo.

In my experience (I've tried a few of the top brands, ie/ hydroxicut, lipo-6, animal cuts, and a couple others) they were simply a placebo that made me want to go to the gym more.

Save the money and clean up your diet. That's the most important thing.

I wouldn't say I was built average. Going to the gym as much as I do puts you above average. I eat pretty clean but do cheat sometimes. I just read that workout plan where the guy lost all the weight. It was bolded in another thread. He said his BF was 18% and he looked flabby. If he is 18% I am 9%. I thought he looked more like 25%. I can see my abs etc. I just want to lose what little fat I have on my stomach and love handles. Were talking 3-5 lbs max, if that. I'm pretty lean.

That is what I figured. 80% of you gains are outside the gym. ie diet. I just want to enjoy food too. I don't over indulge but I don't want to go through the rest of my life eating boiled chicken either. I didn't know if there was a quicker easy way. Believe me, working out is a way of life for me so I know there is no easy way or everyone would be ripped. I just thought there might be a little something to push me over the edge.

Honestly, if you want to lose 3-5 lbs 'max' then simply subsitute a meal each day with a protein shake and half a banana.

Losing a few pounds to get more definition is easy. I thought you wanted to do a full cut for 30 or so pounds.

You could also just cut out ALL bread from your normal diet for a couple weeks. That should shed a couple.

Yeah, but it also depends on his definition of "seeing abs" and where his weight is. When I was 20% I saw more than even the general outline of abs.

Of course, my definition of "visible abs" doesn't mean a fucking outline like some.

    No Timber abs no care

I am not a power lifter nor do I want to be. I think I look best at 180, maybe 175. I don't lift for sport or strenght. I workout for health and to look good. I'm sure I will get flamed over that but oh well. I have no desire to look like a meat head with no neck.

A lot of guys here are powerlifters/strongmen and the rest want to get big. Ask for help and then insult the majority of the people here? Good call.

Forgive me for defending myself. I was the one insulted first. Look, I don't want to be some big burly guy. So I have different goals then most on here. Big deal. I put on at least 20 lbs of muscle when I first started lifting, if not more and now I want to maintain and stay lean.

Just eat clean, and add some HIIT training to cut down. I don't like to cut to much food because my lifts go down. I tried Hydro-cut it was like speed for me and I did not like the way I felt. I stay away from that stuff. Oh Green tea helps.

    It\'s all in the diet.

65lbs and still going - no supps to date but green tea and a very brief attempt with EC.

The information you seek is in the archives and stickies, I suggest you stop insulting those who control this forum and do a bit of reading.

I tried xenydrine (sp?) once for about two days. Unfortunately it was over 4th of July weekend which is a big drinkfest out here on the beach. I was drinking rockstars and vodka and I took my daily dose of that stuff. I was up all night freaking out. I mean really freaking out. I thought my heart was going to pound of my chest. I called my friend at 4 in the morning who was also taking that stuff and asked him what I could do to make it stop. I stopped taking that crap the next day. Granted it was probably the rockstar, alcohol and drinking in the sun all day. Stupid.

Bottom line is I need to eat cleaner.
