I'm planning on getting the MBP 15.4" (2.16GHz) next month but I want to have the hard drive upgraded to 120GB instead of the standard 100GB.

Can I walk into an Apple Store & buy a MBP with 120GB right there? Or can I only get that upgrade by ordering online?

I know you can get the new Mac Pro built-to-order at Apple Stores...just wondering if they do that with the other systems. :dunno:

True...but if I remember correctly, the HD is not user-upgradeable without voiding the warranty. You can with the MacBook but not the MBP.

I really don't want to void the warranty on this computer.

Its like all my PCs in the past were the slutty cheerleaders in highschool...I just banged them around and did whatevers with them. But this Mac...it's special...I really care about this one and I wanna treat it right so it lasts me a long time.

When I bought my MBP 17 2.16ghz, I wanted the 7200 RPM 100GB drive instead of the 120GB 5400RPM drive. They said they could order it that way, or I could buy it on the website, but they didn't customize in store.

Isn't it true that if you upgrade the computer online there are no returns, outside of warranty issues? Just a heads up, make sure you like it.

You could always opt for the external, no?

You could buy the computer from a reseller and if they don't have a laptop in that config, they'll probably do it for you.

Just buy it at apple.com if you want it customized, or have the store order it. Not a problem.
